We designed a boutique hotel for a pre-20th century tenement building by proposing the addition of two floors on top, supported by new steel frames. The project required complex foundation work in the 120-year-old cellar. To maximize the number of hotel rooms, we researched various urban hotel typologies and gutted the interior, preserving only the building envelope, to create modern guest rooms.
